At St Mary’s Convent & Nursing Home, we warmly welcome family and friends to visit and remain an important part of residents’ lives. We believe that maintaining close personal relationships and regular contact with loved ones is essential to each resident’s wellbeing, comfort and sense of belonging.
We aim to provide a welcoming, peaceful and homely environment where residents can enjoy time with visitors in comfort and privacy. Visits may take place in residents’ rooms, in our communal lounges, in the garden, or in other appropriate areas of the Home.
Visitors are welcome at any time, provided the resident wishes to receive visitors. Children are always welcome, and pets may also visit by prior arrangement.
To help us ensure the safety, wellbeing and comfort of all residents, we kindly ask visitors to sign in on arrival and sign out when leaving. If using the car park, please also record your vehicle registration number. If a resident is going into the garden or leaving the Home with family or friends, we ask that the person in charge is informed.
Our front reception area is staffed between 8.00am and 5.00pm. Outside these hours, please ring the night bell at the front door and wait for the duty member of staff to assist you.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks are always available for visitors. Meals may also be taken with residents by prior arrangement; please contact Reception in advance for booking details and current charges.
Relatives and friends are also warmly invited to attend events and activities within the Home, which are advertised on our notice board and in our weekly Activities bulletin.
We are always pleased to welcome visitors and would be happy to assist with any arrangements in advance.
